Happy November!

Are you ready for the holiday season?  When do you officially count the start?  I used to think it began with Thanksgiving, but as the season got busier and busier I changed my mind.  Now, Halloween kicks off the season for me.  The bonus is I can start it with plenty of chocolate on hand.

Check out this treat!  This gorgeous kit by the amazing KimB Designs is all yours for free this month.  Aptly titled Rejuvination, it is a mini spa treatment just right for soothing your holiday season stress away.  For more of Kim's kits, check out her KimB's Designs.  And make sure you peek closely at her header--it totally makes me grin.

I tried downloading the free kit rejuvination it only downloaded papers and when I opened the file it wasn't even for the kit that is shown :(

Yes, same thing for me, you didn't give the good link, there are papers from "wild mood swings" by Amanda Thordeson :)

Thank you for the beautiful papers! Was a little sad that it wasn't the pretty rejuvination kit though :o/

The same goes for me. Hopefully it is just a glitch in the link and the new kit will be posted soon. I will check back later just to make sure. Thanks for your freebie and your diligence in repairing the link to the beautiful kit.

What a gorgeous kit. Was really looking forward to it. Thought it was too good to be true. How sad.

I am disappointed in Scrap street, once again. Kim, one of the most talented designers in the field has been duped. This is not only a slap in Kim's face but also that of her customers and friends. Shame on Scrap Street. unreliable and down right rude. you've lost me as a reader

Pauline said...

My goodness, somebody's got their panties in a knot. It's not like anybody's perfect, ya know! Everybody makes mistakes. I'm disappointed that the link is wrong but I know it will get fixed and we'll all be albe to get Kim's beautiful kit. (Thank you Kim)

Daydreamer said...

Good Gosh, it's the wrong link not the end of the world. Be grateful it's free and from a good designer. It's not a slap in the face to Kim just a mistake that will be fix soon. It will be here for the whole month so take a chill pill and just check back later. But if I was Scrap Street I would be happy you're not a reader anymore. I wouldn't want someone with that attitude reading anyways. Thanks Scrap Street for the kit and I will keep checking back. :) Take care

Whoa, Anonymous! You are totally out of line! I have been a subscriber of Scrap Street for awhile now and have yet to be disappointed. I love the articles, the tips and techniques, and -- of course -- the monthly FREE kit! Thus far, I've always enjoyed a glitch-free download process; in fact, this is the first time I've ever encountered a problem. However, I know the lovely people who put a lot of effort into this online magazine will fix the link soon. Like others have noted here, it's a fabulous FREE kit, so show a little gratitude instead of such a strident attitude, Anonymous!

On another note, I do have a query about the title of this FREE kit. Technically speaking, the word is "rejuvenation," spelled with two e's and a letter "i" only in the "-tion" suffix. Is KimB making a play on words, using the letter "i" as a symbol for all who might need to rejuvenate themselves? Without having seen the kit yet, I can only make a guess as to the designer's intention.

I apologize for bringing this up, but 40+ years as an editor, librarian, and English instructor are hard to let go. In actuality, I don't really care about how the title is spelled as long as any wordart in the kit is spelled correctly. I see incorrectly spelled wordart all the time, and it makes me sad when I have to toss out a fine piece of artwork because of spelling or typographical errors.

Before I submit this message for all to read, I want to add that I hope everyone will accept my remarks for what they are, that is, a desire to help, not an urge to criticize. I have offered proofreading services for FREE at a number of sites for several years now, yet very few designers or scrappers have taken me up on my offer.

In paper scrapping, we use acid-free materials that will stand the test of time, and digital scrapbooking is as permanent, if not more so. It's not as big a deal when a scrapper makes a mistake now and then, but designers really do need to exercise greater caution so that their loyal customers won't be leaving a legacy of writing errors behind them.

Just my 2 cents worth ...

Wow thanks for the great freebie kit! Love it

Well, I don't know how etherealfire and Nanette managed to get this .. the link is just sending me on a circle loop!! Just wondering if my computer is having a hiccup!! Never mind, will try again later :)

i tried again today, and i still get the just the papers, but, i'm sure this will be remedied soon. i have also been a journalist and teacher, and find myself correcting the grammar and spelling, too, so don't feel alone in that. Things that i can fix, i do fix, but yes, when WA is misspelled, it is hard to fix. But, then, no one is perfect, and sometimes spellings are different by country of origin, too. Anyway, this is a lovely kit by a top designer, so i will keep checking back till the link is fixed.

I left a message on KimB's blog as well as she advertised this gorgeous free kit....so hopefully soon the link will be fixed....not the end of the world.

Hey! THANKS for correcting the link! i knew you'd take care of it as soon as you found out! No one needed to get her knickers in a knot over this! i've been using these beasties we call computers since 1979 - i don't get all in a knot over little errors like this - you fixed it, and i'm pleased to download Kim's gorgeous kit. She's on my list of top designers and i'm thrilled to have this - Thank you so much - i'm glad i subscribed to this newsletter - you have great articles and it's nicely done.

Darling readers and friends,

We are so sorry to have posted the incorrect link. It was, of course, in no way intended to be a slap in the face of anyone, but a simple error. It happens, even when we would all rather it did not. We have fixed the link and created an additional new post on November 2 titled "November Kit Link" to help everyone find the correct link.

Our thanks to all of you that sweetly let us know that we had an error. We will continue to bring you free kits from talented designers in the future.

Sincerely,
Dora Phillips
ScrapStreet Owner

Oh my Gosh Guys, seriously, I took it as what it was.. a mistake, and as you can see I even made one too with the "title".. but not on the word art I promise- BWHAHAHA.
Sometimes the hands work quicker than my brain on the keyboard - I'm still blonde and admit it ;-)

Dora and Katey just a big thank you for the honour and for your hard work, - I loved reading the magazine this month and am so proud of all my "girls" as I see their hard work and creations shown with pride on the mags pages.

I hope everyone enjoys "RejunInation"- lol, as you can see I probably need some of it myself too- lol
HUGS and thanks to all that sent me a mail.
