A friendship mini for a friend

Hello scrappers. Nicole here today with a quick and easy mini album. A few months ago, my cousin asked me if I would be willing to make a friendship mini album for her to give to her best friend who just went away for college. And since I enjoy making things for other people, I said of course! The "Hello Friend" collection was the perfect fit for my mini. I love the soft colors and pretty embellishments! I think I need another set because I've been using this collection like it's going out of style. LOL.

Paper Embellishments

Hello everyone! Today I am going to share a layout using lots of paper embellishments. While I was scrapping, I realized that I was running low on embellishments so I had no idea where this layout was going... I sort of went with the flow. I started by laying different papers down and stitching them together using my sewing machine. Then I placed the photo in the center of the layout and decided to use that as my focal point. From that point, I decided to print a digital embellishment and add that below my photo and I hand-cut the banner from patterned paper! I used a stamp and ribbon to fill in some white space and created a paper pinwheel to finish the layout!

Here are some close ups on how to create a pinwheel of your own:

Instructions for how to create a pinwheel:

1. Use 1 2 1/2"x2 1/2" Square as your base.

2. Using a paper piercer, poke a hole in the center of the square.

3. Using a pair of scissors, create cuts from each points towards the center leaving a small space in between.

4. Fold ends towards the middle, using glue dots to hold them in place.

5. Add a brad or die-cut to the center.

Using digital elements on your layouts

Hello ladies. Nicole here with a few fun layouts. For my first layout I decided to go hybrid again. I love the Happy Travels digital collection; it's one of my all time favorite collections. After I completed the layout, I found it funny how much it looks like a fall layout, but it's really a summer layout :) This was a super quick and easy layout. I simply printed all of the digital whatnots and labels on plain cardstock, printed them out and cut them to use as my background papers.

Going hybrid

Hello ladies. Nicole here with a few hybrid layouts! I wanted to step out of my comfort zone a little bit this month so I decided to dabble a bit with elements from Glitz Designs digital kits! While scrapping, I decided that it was quite fun and so easy! I simply printed some digital elements on white cardstock and cut them out with scissors. Here are both of my layouts using digital embellishments! You can hardly tell the difference from paper vs. digital. I love them both and hope that you are inspired to try Glitz Designs digital kits!

Use Your Stash!

Hi, its Veronica here and today I want to share with you a Halloween mini album.  The entire album was made from my left over stash!  I love using up my stash ... it gives me such satisfaction to know that I am not wasting and I believe it makes me more creative.

There are so many bits and pieces from different lines of paper in this album, some of them are:

I try and use stash whenever possible and it can be easily done.  How you ask?  There are just a three basic rules that I follow.  First I match the theme, which in this case is Halloween.  I also make sure each facing page matches; so that when you open your album the pages flow together.

Second, I always choose one base color that will flow throughout the album.  This method is easy on the eyes and helps with the cohesive look of the album.

 Notice how the patterns are not from the same collection but they both have the color black.

Third, when choosing patterns for my mini I try and stick to 2-3 colors in the pattern only.  So in this case with the Halloween album, I chose orange and yellow with an accent of green splattered here and there.

Pretty In Pink

I received the Glitz Designs "Pretty In Pink" collection, and let me tell you .... I loved it!  Which actually surprised me because I am not really a "pink" kinda gal.  But this collection is absolutely beautiful and I was able to make a layout and card in a few hours.  The paper inspired me and voila this is what I created.

And I also had plenty of "extra" to make a card.  I always try and make a card after making either a layout or album because I like taking advantage of my time.  All my supplies and paper is already out.  Plus there are always "torn" pieces lying about ... so why not?  Use up what you have in front of you; and make a card!

 

 

Some of the other product I used to make this layout and card are Prima Marketing flowers, May Arts ribbon, Zva Creative bling, Bazzill cardstock and also one of my favorite embellies; the Prima Marketing wood clocks.

Just sharing a few vintage layouts!

Hi all, Nicole here! Today I would like to share two layouts with you using the "French Kiss" collection! Sometimes I feel like my layouts look the same so to help my mojo, I will often try to use sketches or photos to help inspire me to create something different!


Notice how I used newspaper printed Layers and the heart punches? I just love how this turned out! And I especially love the cute little banner stickers with the different sayings!!
