The 100th and final issue of ScrapStreet magazine. I cannot imagine not being here in my chair next month racing to upload the latest issue. Every year for 7 years, I have been in this same seat at this same old workhorse computer preparing to send out the issues. Some months have included a frantic race to finish or fix. Others have had a hysterical call to another editor shouting "my internet is down--save the mag!". And, of course, some were as smooth as silk. Each is a precious memory.<br />
<br />
Our <a href="http://scrapstreet.com/ss12/final/oncover.htm">farewell issue</a> is filled with inspiration from different styles of scrapping. We covered the ABC's--artistic, bold, creative, and designer inspirations. We hope you enjoy all of the joy and a smidge of sorrow that we have to share with you.<br />

<br />
Our final free kit is a special gift from Kristina from Kristmess Designs. When I think of Kristina, I always think of bright and cheerful, so I was surprised when I opened her Days Gone By kit. The subtle shades and stunning patterns may not be typical Kristina, but it quickly became my new favorite kit. She certainly does updated vintage with her pizzazz! See more of her work and kits on her <a href="http://kristmessdesigns.blogspot.com/">blog </a>and fall in love with this fabulous designer.<br />

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<br />
<br />
<span style="font-size: large;">Want to keep the kids out of the kitchen while you are preparing the Thanksgiving eats? Take a little time today to create these Thanksgiving bingo placemats that I created for the <a href="http://www.fiskateers.com/">Fiskateer site</a>. The kids will probably "attack" each relative as they walk through the door as they eagerly try to fill their placemats with the signatures of the relative who has a cat...the one whose favorite color is orange...who has won a race...who is afraid of spiders...who still has leaves to rake in their yard. Create your own family facts and make this very simple paper placemat. I printed the phrases on to the papers and then let the kids help punch and glue on the shapes. It's a great way to use up scraps (and to inventory that collection of punches and dies you've been hoarding). </span><br />

<span style="font-size: large;">Busy...busy...busy...and what??!! </span><br />
<span style="font-size: large;">We are just entering the "busy season"? </span><br />
<span style="font-size: large;">I've been in the busy season for awhile</span><span style="font-size: large;">.</span><br />
<span style="font-size: large;">So, I've decided, "why not just embrace the "busy" and create "busy" layouts?"</span><br />

<br />
<br />
<span style="font-size: large;">I'm catching up on my Quilt Blocks of the Month with Smitha Katti over at the <a href="http://www2.fiskars.com/Sewing-Quilting/Projects/For-the-Home/Quilts-Blankets">Fiskars site</a>. While quilt blocks are great for piecing together fabulous backgrounds, using patterned paper can get them looking a little "busy". My solution? Keep the embellishments to a minimum. With these colorful pieced background blocks, I don't want my photos to get lost. After all, we wouldn't be scrapbooking if we didn't have photos, right?</span><br />
<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhpelXxco0g15wq89Ecy5oZNlQ1jNrJHIeuPaEDqrRDrNmVMAdG15g0WsoS8ppYfpdLwKVRCYKmxNUINSaa7sa5ryD_FZPWNZFQbXR4s2BGeEYtHbaHEXyLK4UXlRLFqjIDVOq4DeQq0Ao/s1600/100_1255.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="393" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhpelXxco0g15wq89Ecy5oZNlQ1jNrJHIeuPaEDqrRDrNmVMAdG15g0WsoS8ppYfpdLwKVRCYKmxNUINSaa7sa5ryD_FZPWNZFQbXR4s2BGeEYtHbaHEXyLK4UXlRLFqjIDVOq4DeQq0Ao/s400/100_1255.JPG" width="400" /></a></div>
<a href="http://www2.fiskars.com/Sewing-Quilting/Projects/For-the-Home/Quilts-Blankets">Fiskars Quilt Block of the Month #8</a><br />
<br />
<span style="font-size: large;">On these pages, I used solids (but textured) lettering for the titles. The solid colors are necessary so the title doesn't get lost on the page. But, with a bit of dimension, (stencil/negative space on the first layout, burlap textured letters on the middle layout, and glitter-embossed letters on the bottom) I can still play with embellishing but balance it with the background.</span> <br />
<br />
<span style="font-size: large;">So, feeling busy?</span><br />
<span style="font-size: large;">Embrace it.</span><br />

<div style="text-align: center;">
Hello scrappers. Nicole here today with a quick and easy mini album. A few months ago, my cousin asked me if I would be willing to make a friendship mini album for her to give to her best friend who just went away for college. And since I enjoy making things for other people, I said of course! The "Hello Friend" collection was the perfect fit for my mini. I love the soft colors and pretty embellishments! I think I need another set because I've been using this collection like it's going out of style. LOL. </div>

<span style="font-size: large;">For this Halloween project, I decided to make something a little scary for you! It was just a little scary for me too...I had never made a home decor collage project. Although, all scrapbook pages are sort of a collage, and I've made banners, this was different for me. Lots of steps and layers were a bit intimidating, and I placed and re-placed and positioned and re-positioned all of the elements a zillion times before I started gluing. I started by arranging (and re-arranging) an assortment of Halloween stamps onto my Fiskars stamp press as seen below.</span><br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEisUUpuvA3KkWZoIJ5H9rvkuaRMKpc2qRUKxSwtLe7ipVi7iBHz5KgzSdWuwxzQmJSqS41rBupDXrDK64rXCT9dxn0OZs4RscpmFnqfheKfawpkbIi3rrgOTq3lHUNjyqxmlPrEtOHsXto/s1600/100_1196.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="300" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEisUUpuvA3KkWZoIJ5H9rvkuaRMKpc2qRUKxSwtLe7ipVi7iBHz5KgzSdWuwxzQmJSqS41rBupDXrDK64rXCT9dxn0OZs4RscpmFnqfheKfawpkbIi3rrgOTq3lHUNjyqxmlPrEtOHsXto/s400/100_1196.JPG" width="400" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<span style="font-size: large;">Then, I stamped randomly on some white tissue paper using black Stazon ink.</span></div>

<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<span style="font-size: large;">I glued the tissue onto a thick piece of cardstock and then, I started inking with Tim Holtz Distress Inks and Stain...more randomness</span><br />

<br />
<br />
<span style="font-size: large;">I started punching and cutting...I spy with my little eye Fiskars Grandma's Doily, a small cloud (as clouds and ghosts), and a small bare tree. I used my Fiskars Ultra Shape Xpress to cut the large tree from the Fiskars Woodland Tree Template. And, I also used a Martha Stewart fence border punch as well as letters cut from a Sizzix Alpha die. The checkerboard-like, flocked paper for the tree is from My Mind's Eye.</span><br />

Hello everyone! Today I am going to share a layout using lots of paper embellishments. While I was scrapping, I realized that I was running low on embellishments so I had no idea where this layout was going... I sort of went with the flow.
I started by laying different papers down and stitching them together using my sewing machine. Then I placed the photo in the center of the layout and decided to use that as my focal point. From that point, I decided to print a digital embellishment and add that below my photo and I hand-cut the banner from patterned paper!
I used a stamp and ribbon to fill in some white space and created a paper pinwheel to finish the layout!

Meet Bob.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
When I lived in Washington, I had the distinct pleasure of volunteering at a local coffee shop ministry. The purpose of the shop was to reach out to the downtown crowd. We would have lots of folks from the street come in for coffee; which they got for free after doing a chore. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
I love making coffee for people. I love chatting about life and learning about where people are from and what their story is. We had our fair share of regulars and one of those regulars is my pal Bob. I like Bob. He likes me, too. I would make his mocha every time I was working. He preferred my mochas too. Hey... I'm a mocha drinker... I know how they should be made. :o)</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
He always loved to drink from the ugliest mug. For awhile, we had this scary clown one that had a nose and all kinds of freaky details. Bob loved that mug. So, we'd hide it in the back of the cabinet to use when he came in. I always added a huge amount of whipped cream on top with a drizzle of chocolate. Maybe that's why he liked mine the best!</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
I miss working at this coffee shop. I miss seeing Bob every week and making his mocha. I miss hearing about his life and all the things he has seen and done. It's amazing how one, small blip in life can teach you so much. </div>

Hello ladies. Nicole here with a few fun layouts. For my first layout I decided to go hybrid again. I love the Happy Travels digital collection; it's one of my all time favorite collections. After I completed the layout, I found it funny how much it looks like a fall layout, but it's really a summer layout :) This was a super quick and easy layout. I simply printed all of the digital whatnots and labels on plain cardstock, printed them out and cut them to use as my background papers.
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgwqiR7VmyxMxXF-JmegMxWsIN6OBQoVnkIiF6VvC5LlE8ciHtiHti5nFTcxgVuaXzRVWHVyGLgZTPAFqkQPayu7RfawSX7dPen8_WbRIrSzCZmDQEMIAzNy1OLk9yJ2FU7HXrCsvKn1pjA/s1600/cascade+lake_nicole+martel_gliz+design_zva+creative+001.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="400" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgwqiR7VmyxMxXF-JmegMxWsIN6OBQoVnkIiF6VvC5LlE8ciHtiHti5nFTcxgVuaXzRVWHVyGLgZTPAFqkQPayu7RfawSX7dPen8_WbRIrSzCZmDQEMIAzNy1OLk9yJ2FU7HXrCsvKn1pjA/s400/cascade+lake_nicole+martel_gliz+design_zva+creative+001.jpg" width="307" /></a></div>

And here is another layout where I used digital elements from the Happy Travels digital collection. I printed the transparancy swirl onto a letter sized cardstock and used it as my base! I am so impressed with the quality of my printer. You can hardly tell the difference from regular paper vs. digital.

<span style="font-size: large;">The leaves have changed from green into their vibrant autumn colors...</span><span style="font-size: large;">and now they are dropping...quickly. </span><br />
<span style="font-size: large;"></span><br />
<span style="font-size: large;">So, I thought I better quick make some cards to celebrate and capture this ever-changing season. Used my new Tim Holtz "blueprint" stamp of an oak leaf for the background and then added several colors and some clear embossing powder to highlight and pop the one on the corner. A few punches of my "Oakey Dokey" Fiskars squeeze punch and bonus points for digging out the sewing machine too! This was how I celebrated "World Card-Making Day" on Saturday. How did you participate?</span><br />
<span style="font-size: large;"></span><br />
<span style="font-size: large;">Hope you get some time this week to "sit and watch the leaves turn". This season will be over before you know it.</span><br />

A day late...</div>
<br />
Well, depending on where you are at. For some reading this post, it was yesterday. For others, it's still the afternoon. (Hello Hawaii!!!)<br />
<br />
I LOVE World Card Making Day!<br />
<br />
Of course, the writer of Card Corner would say that, right? While, I was out and about most of the day, I did finally get to my craft area and am creating my happy creative heart out. I love this hobby so much and never want to lose that joy! I am so thankful for days like this when our amazingly, talented, paper crafting community can come together and share our cards.<br />
<br />
While I was perusing galleries and Facebook, I came across some gorgeous cards! Some are from designers who are regularly published in ScrapStreet and others are from designers who I haven't had the honor of seeing their lovelies. See below for a few of what I found. Make sure to follow the link to their blogs because these ladies have a TON of inspiration on their blogs.<br />

Even though the temperatures are still a balmy 75 by day, the nights are cooler and the leaves are beginning to change. I absolutely love the deep colors that paint the woods near my home. It is such a fun time of year to be a mom--so many activities, so much fun!</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Georgia,"Times New Roman",serif;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: Georgia,"Times New Roman",serif;">As much as I love this time of year, this blog post is one that is bittersweet for me. </span><br />
<div class="credits">
<span style="font-family: Georgia,"Times New Roman",serif;"><br /><span style="font-size: medium;"> </span> </span></div>
<span style="font-family: Georgia,"Times New Roman",serif;"> On September 15th, 2005, I opened the doors to
Scrapstreet. The online scrapping world was so very different then.
Only a few companies existed selling items and offering communities.
Digital scrapbooking was new and not yet mainstream. Blogs were few and
far between. When we launched our ezine that December, it was a novel
idea and embraced quickly-especially since we were free. </span><br />
<br />
<span style="font-family: Georgia,"Times New Roman",serif;"> Over the next 7 years, we grew and changed with the
industry. Some
of our writers moved on to other scrapbooking companies redefining
success for themselves. Others retired from scrapping to pursue other
interests or family commitments. Some stopped writing, but stayed to
help and cheer from the sidelines. Many achieved other scrapping goals
while staying with us embracing Scrapstreet as a home base. </span><br />
<br />
<span style="font-family: Georgia,"Times New Roman",serif;"> We branched out into hybrid, digital, cards, altered, while
still offering tons of traditional paper layouts. We worked with
products and created for pretty much every company selling and were
always proud of the results. In fact, we outlasted many of the
companies we loved.
We never missed a month (even when there were some close calls!) and for
long stretches of time offered two magazines a month. </span><br />
<br />
<span style="font-family: Georgia,"Times New Roman",serif;"> All told, December will be our 100th issue. </span><br />
<br />
<span style="font-family: Georgia,"Times New Roman",serif;">And our last.</span><br />
<br />
<span style="font-family: Georgia,"Times New Roman",serif;">I hope that all of you will join us in celebrating our
wonderful years together. Our request is a simple
one--please submit a layout that you would love to have in our
final issue. Share with us your favorite work and be a
part of our final goodbye. We would be honored to share
final step in this journey with you.</span><br />
<br />
<span style="font-family: Georgia,"Times New Roman",serif;">Here we are in our final countdown with a fabulous <a href="http://scrapstreet.com/ss12/oooct/contents.htm">Fall issue </a>to inspire you.</span><br />

Hello everyone! I just wanted to share a quick layout of mine using the <a href="http://www.scrapbookingfromtheinsideout.com/">September Innocence kit by Scrapbooking </a>from the inside out. This month was a bit deep for me... I decided to create some layouts based on some of my childhood memories; these memories were'nt so innocent... I think it's important to share the hard/scary times in your life because you never know; there might be someone else out there suffering from similar memories... and it may be comforting for others to know that they're not alone and time does heal!

Lately I have been really into mixed media. I guess it is a trend now and I'm not the only one. Nevertheless, I thought I would share a mixed media project with you.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
This is a notebook that I got for a quarter at a back to school sale. I covered it in a couple layers of Gesso, then pressed the crackle molding mat into it. After that I sprayed it with the new Stephanie Barnard Dye ink in Banana, then ran the Banana ink pad over the texture for a little more definition. The muslin was hand cut and then stamped with the Rollograph and three colors of stephanie Barnard dye ink. The chipboard was gesso'd then sprayed with Dye ink in Orange, then inked with some brown chalk ink. The trims are Hydrangea Hippo.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://i5.photobucket.com/albums/y168/megamay/altered/MAaron_Clearsnap_Notebook.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="400" src="http://i5.photobucket.com/albums/y168/megamay/altered/MAaron_Clearsnap_Notebook.jpg" width="345" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
I have also been using modeling paste. The texture on the background probably would have worked better with that, but I didn't have it at the time. It's thicker than gesso and holds texture and design well. I have been using it with stencils to create an embossed look.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
I also used the Aiko line from My little Shoebox. I wanted the feel of this banner to reflect the theme, so I made the strings of cherry blossoms hanging whimsically like rain drops. A little bit of shine adds to the whimsy.check out <a href="http://thoughtsoftraveling.blogspot.com/">my blog</a> for more info.</div>

Hello ladies. Nicole here with a few hybrid layouts! I wanted to step out of my comfort zone a little bit this month so I decided to dabble a bit with elements from Glitz Designs digital kits! While scrapping, I decided that it was quite fun and so easy! I simply printed some digital elements on white cardstock and cut them out with scissors. Here are both of my layouts using digital embellishments! You can hardly tell the difference from paper vs. digital. I love them both and hope that you are inspired to try Glitz Designs digital kits! <br />

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<span style="font-size: large;">While others may live for adventure, I let my wild side out while I'm creating. Now, I don't go crazy and shoot color out of a paint gun, roll around with my body covered in paint, or throw knives at paint filled, suspended balloons. </span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<span style="font-size: large;">But sometimes, it's nice to break the rules <em><strong>a little bit</strong></em>.</span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<span style="font-size: large;"></span> </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<span style="font-size: large;">So for these cards, I stamped these images in black (the large botanical image is from Kaisercraft, the sentiments are from Hampton Art), and rather than color them in, I mixed a little water with some colored ink and splattered. Drip, drip, drop!</span></div>

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<span style="font-size: large;">Now, a kindergarten teacher might encourage you to color in the lines, but me--I'm a paper art rebel. I say "Go for it"!</span></div>

<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgHW8uSb_MgCW44BW_JoJK56eUgr_qdQJUQxRq5wn-ev9GbHwjEjpDj7aWbeTehS_nR1mMvKAuaEkEEtqpS84_I1-ODdnZPvY82ZKaCBETagRB76vcUvSF4WEIXs_JVi4_9LwCwaXeSRuA/s1600/100_1003.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="393" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgHW8uSb_MgCW44BW_JoJK56eUgr_qdQJUQxRq5wn-ev9GbHwjEjpDj7aWbeTehS_nR1mMvKAuaEkEEtqpS84_I1-ODdnZPvY82ZKaCBETagRB76vcUvSF4WEIXs_JVi4_9LwCwaXeSRuA/s400/100_1003.JPG" width="400" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<span style="font-size: large;">Sometimes the fastest way to a scrapbook page is with a collection. I am not one to remember the names of paper patterns or if I bought stickers that match the patterned paper, but this time, I remember! One, because I LOVE it, and TWO, because I just bought it recently. A trip to Archivers had me roaming the aisles looking for something I could use with this Florida photo of my little girl and her sand ball. BING! I found it with this </span><a href="http://mylyb.com/splash"><span style="font-size: large;">"Splash" collection from Little Yellow Bicycle.</span></a> <span style="font-size: large;"> </span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<span style="font-size: large;"></span> </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjWmaJpX07ez52ykGRm695DGM2VPo-h_UC_JUfVrZCRtOYnWlM9iEjMhiy5meqFSU0ZmD2wwmY436oUN8VCnlqhdyFSuxv-vDFkmb3ZwjJ_4eYa9OYOlYVwwkLEWdnyJDOZ5i3Mcvogae8/s1600/100_1004.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjWmaJpX07ez52ykGRm695DGM2VPo-h_UC_JUfVrZCRtOYnWlM9iEjMhiy5meqFSU0ZmD2wwmY436oUN8VCnlqhdyFSuxv-vDFkmb3ZwjJ_4eYa9OYOlYVwwkLEWdnyJDOZ5i3Mcvogae8/s320/100_1004.JPG" width="252" /></a></div>
<div style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<span style="font-size: large;">I bought the paper and the "clear cuts" embellishments to make this page go together so quick and easy. Sometimes, when I look at my stacks of photos that I want to scrap, I'm all about quick and easy. Archivers had this flower punch that reminded me of starfish (although, my children have told me that starfish are now called "sea stars" because they are not really a fish). So, I punched a bunch of those out of some brown kraft and metallic gold papers, and used sand paper for my title (sniped that from my husband's tool box). I'm going to give a little shout out to Glue Dots too--they are invisible behind those LYB clear cuts--how awesome!</span></div>

<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;">Do you spend hours and hours creating a digital layout? Or, are you able to pump out multiple pages a day? For me, it truly depends on how the creative juices are flowing at the time. </span></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;">I have however, found a few tricks that I think are great time savers, and I wanted to share one of them with you today.</span></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;">My goal in the example below, is to make it appear that the red flower element is fed through the hole on the top of the tag, and that the blue string is woven on top of, and under the elements. Rather than spend a lot of time erasing the elements "just so", I'm going to do some duplicate layering and THEN erase portions of the layers.</span></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhU2iOLD1Z4bAeRrWF66QH6dFZQ-oNATz2wMofmTJowPw2k79L-aIiYHqPl_GPvnl3D1VUm_yN5m89TTaQyTojj6ToE9LiqOhWr5KhuHXEmNooSIvi5nrRlbHhc0pPE6Ne8l5xoY5pyKu84/s1600/Step+1.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="400" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhU2iOLD1Z4bAeRrWF66QH6dFZQ-oNATz2wMofmTJowPw2k79L-aIiYHqPl_GPvnl3D1VUm_yN5m89TTaQyTojj6ToE9LiqOhWr5KhuHXEmNooSIvi5nrRlbHhc0pPE6Ne8l5xoY5pyKu84/s400/Step+1.jpg" width="400" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;">I'm going to duplicate the tag and make the duplicated layer the bottom-most layer (keeping it in the exact same position on the page the top layer is in)</span></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;"><br /></span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhSne_sleU3wQmIRjBgOuommjJdH_cLogZj02X3PwVKjYRloW7rnGlOU8ipNq9lf5PeRMtHKRFX2RkJ3U4iD74L5cgjs_qgarNd9XOKYC9JhZ9nHfwWrYYtMSZ4ZV-TjY8huJF1P6EidwLI/s1600/Step+2.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="400" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhSne_sleU3wQmIRjBgOuommjJdH_cLogZj02X3PwVKjYRloW7rnGlOU8ipNq9lf5PeRMtHKRFX2RkJ3U4iD74L5cgjs_qgarNd9XOKYC9JhZ9nHfwWrYYtMSZ4ZV-TjY8huJF1P6EidwLI/s400/Step+2.jpg" width="400" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;"><br /></span></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;">Looks a lot like step one, doesn't it? Trust me, the duplicated tag is on the bottom. :-)</span></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;"><br /></span></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;">Now I'm going to go back to the top layer of the tab and simply erase a portion of the tab so that the stem of the flower shows through.</span></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;"><br /></span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjnbTT5dzyubGNeZNXDuILbavRlAullzEmI4_mJNNl2KfMF7VtpqsuLdLxXcYddQ1ze4fApVz5Rr1y1NND_lcBxguveooF3BFfnwb96iDPT1su61cTBv1jpDhyphenhyphen3HEAjEb3SmRGZpXipWXXt/s1600/Step+3.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="400" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjnbTT5dzyubGNeZNXDuILbavRlAullzEmI4_mJNNl2KfMF7VtpqsuLdLxXcYddQ1ze4fApVz5Rr1y1NND_lcBxguveooF3BFfnwb96iDPT1su61cTBv1jpDhyphenhyphen3HEAjEb3SmRGZpXipWXXt/s400/Step+3.jpg" width="400" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;">I'm going to repeat that process with the string - duplicating it and moving the duplicated layer to the bottom. Then I'm going to go back to the top string layer and erase portions of it.</span></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;"><br /></span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhbQy3ozBUwHuMug46EngBeUBjkNMHp2_sXJXSFiGEnuAc8EEuItnfDlWnibskhQlBNJtv7Xis-HFFP5XqwQUf9XiYEz5zzx3Ld5uCMCLVeluXiwGpQucsXXjhSvu-QBVwmWPm8t7hxaU3s/s1600/Step+4.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="400" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhbQy3ozBUwHuMug46EngBeUBjkNMHp2_sXJXSFiGEnuAc8EEuItnfDlWnibskhQlBNJtv7Xis-HFFP5XqwQUf9XiYEz5zzx3Ld5uCMCLVeluXiwGpQucsXXjhSvu-QBVwmWPm8t7hxaU3s/s400/Step+4.jpg" width="400" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;">After erasing parts of the string, it looks like it is woven on top of and under the flower stems and leaves - and is woven through the hole of the tag.</span></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;"><br /></span></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;">The final step is to add drop shadows. I've added a shadow to the tab and the string - {Be sure to add shadows to the duplicated (bottom) layer first.}</span></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;"><br /></span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiGIYXbsgT3TrPvDhvJJRnVAZtiuQmMdpm99DUgdDm8k7pMwCe1bJymX4BplWapRNu5Wb0fMBDj3ajcZelzaXtPtO573RTnDMhbNTIsjj6p1E4PnJ8xyx3X66DNGOhs0D_7WM-XaJMTG4cd/s1600/Step+5.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="400" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiGIYXbsgT3TrPvDhvJJRnVAZtiuQmMdpm99DUgdDm8k7pMwCe1bJymX4BplWapRNu5Wb0fMBDj3ajcZelzaXtPtO573RTnDMhbNTIsjj6p1E4PnJ8xyx3X66DNGOhs0D_7WM-XaJMTG4cd/s400/Step+5.jpg" width="400" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;">As you can see in the above example, the tag looks fine, but I need to add a shadow to the string that is on top of the tag (which is the top layer of string).</span><br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhj3xYfEgOdF3S25B3h16POFZ9YNe39vKIlP_loLrTy3iAidnzLf1QPLzvQ8jkQk6sfQ_H0jKG-5cRJlKJuvkeFykv294QuVnGa_A9i7d5gbBafQtddKlyktUtxeS4OELKj_4VNWvmJsGQb/s1600/Step+6.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="400" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhj3xYfEgOdF3S25B3h16POFZ9YNe39vKIlP_loLrTy3iAidnzLf1QPLzvQ8jkQk6sfQ_H0jKG-5cRJlKJuvkeFykv294QuVnGa_A9i7d5gbBafQtddKlyktUtxeS4OELKj_4VNWvmJsGQb/s400/Step+6.jpg" width="400" /></a></div>
</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;"><br /></span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;">There! Finished! </span><br />
<br />
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;">It may take a little practice, but once you catch on to this little trick, I hope you love it and find that it does save you time! </span><br />
<br />
<br />
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;">The above was done using Corel PSP X4. Here are a few pages I've created using these same steps:</span><br />

Nicole here. Lately, it seems like all Edward wants to do is sit on my lap so that he can command me to draw him pictures of cars, turtles, mommy and daddy. The list goes on :) I actually love this. I think that I might have a little artist so I'm doing everything that I can to encourage him to find his creative side. </div>
Since my son loves to draw, I decided to create him a fun coloring book using my Bind-it-All and Clipboards. This was such a quick and easy project and Edward loves it! Go ahead and try creating one of your own. I bet your kids will love it too!

<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
This month the <a href="http://joyslife.com/">Joy's Life</a> design team was sponsored by <a href="http://www.cri-kits.com/">Cri-Kit gel pens</a>! I had the chance to try out some of these really cool pens and expand the possibilities of my Cricut. </div>
<br />
<div style="background-color: white; color: #333333; font-family: 'lucida grande', tahoma, verdana, arial, sans-serif; font-size: 11px; line-height: 16px; padding: 0px; text-align: left; white-space: pre-wrap;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
I had so much fun making this card! It looks so detailed, but it was so easy! I used my gypsy to create a two-layered project. I used the<a href="http://www.cri-kits.com/colors.html"> silver metallic Cri-Kits pen</a> to draw the design on the first layer, then the second layer cut out around it. I attached a simple square card to the back of the cut-out. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
The 'You are a Treasure' stamp from the <a href="http://joyslife.com/products/products.html">Joy's Life You're so Punny set</a>, is perfect for this card with all it's rich gold accents. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://i5.photobucket.com/albums/y168/megamay/cards/MAaron_Joys_Life_Cri-Kits_Card2.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="397" src="http://i5.photobucket.com/albums/y168/megamay/cards/MAaron_Joys_Life_Cri-Kits_Card2.jpg" width="400" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
All the papers and gems are My Mind's Eye. The ink is clearsnap.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://i5.photobucket.com/albums/y168/megamay/cards/MAaron_Joys_Life_Cri-Kits_Card2_Det.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="231" src="http://i5.photobucket.com/albums/y168/megamay/cards/MAaron_Joys_Life_Cri-Kits_Card2_Det.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
I didn't try the glitter pens, but I saw some of the items created by the other ladies on the Joy's life team and -wow- those pens are glittery!! I can't wait to give them a try!</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

The entire album was made from my left over stash! I love using up my stash ... it gives me such satisfaction to know that I am not wasting and I believe it makes me more creative.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgCqPUT1oRk2btKz4j-aCmaiABKP8AwBtRVkyy4Gek9PQOuufIBKKeQB8fX1ylju3fPCWaMlihpRq14U7RKhpR7Qfhfy4H-dXbSqTapcl_IWXHhzQm2nEvb9E1vVWpAovYlpPApJRa3_mo/s1600/Kitsnbits_veronica_johnson_halloween_album_MyLYB.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="305" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgCqPUT1oRk2btKz4j-aCmaiABKP8AwBtRVkyy4Gek9PQOuufIBKKeQB8fX1ylju3fPCWaMlihpRq14U7RKhpR7Qfhfy4H-dXbSqTapcl_IWXHhzQm2nEvb9E1vVWpAovYlpPApJRa3_mo/s400/Kitsnbits_veronica_johnson_halloween_album_MyLYB.jpg" width="400" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
There are so many bits and pieces from different lines of paper in this album, some of them are:<br />
<br />
My Little Yellow Bicycle<br />
My Mind's Eye<br />
Glitz Designs<br />
Creative Imaginations<br />
Trinity Paper Arts<br />
Prima<br />
May Arts<br />
Bazzill<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjPXuXfqlNK6J4DEASW8zzU-C_zOy-VPjWZ7STAFvkB2N2TvmAy2d_naBEEOKnfX-vXhg_CBB_zI7CVJb3NeknyDE-UkV2LQ3yCMuZPtY0UPv1NE12dTgylYXtEOFjBA2YVnDKYpcINLUc/s1600/Kitsnbits_veronica_johnson_halloween_album_MyLYB_1.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="400" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjPXuXfqlNK6J4DEASW8zzU-C_zOy-VPjWZ7STAFvkB2N2TvmAy2d_naBEEOKnfX-vXhg_CBB_zI7CVJb3NeknyDE-UkV2LQ3yCMuZPtY0UPv1NE12dTgylYXtEOFjBA2YVnDKYpcINLUc/s400/Kitsnbits_veronica_johnson_halloween_album_MyLYB_1.jpg" width="366" /></a></div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<br />
I try and use stash whenever possible and it can be easily done. How you ask? There are just a three basic rules that I follow. First I match the theme, which in this case is Halloween. I also make sure each facing page matches; so that when you open your album the pages flow together. <br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiTeLsWgK70Cbf-rLeUxb3X036c1dlwJu3bXy1qbbFvTGN22oQZ_hNwl9sOzgYQ19kXG1X2gxIVI8ZkGBKTrfnWzKVdhvylCCUh7X1EKb-RhTaRTNiyeo8LDqP2pxAfKA9FRPgn0m8Hgwc/s1600/Kitsnbits_veronica_johnson_halloween_album_MyLYB_Pages.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="175" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiTeLsWgK70Cbf-rLeUxb3X036c1dlwJu3bXy1qbbFvTGN22oQZ_hNwl9sOzgYQ19kXG1X2gxIVI8ZkGBKTrfnWzKVdhvylCCUh7X1EKb-RhTaRTNiyeo8LDqP2pxAfKA9FRPgn0m8Hgwc/s400/Kitsnbits_veronica_johnson_halloween_album_MyLYB_Pages.jpg" width="400" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Second, I always choose one base color that will flow throughout the album. This method is easy on the eyes and helps with the cohesive look of the album.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhm_PwBrpPYXF_CPqCxXHtic6qMphzR4R3-BMdCdaLUmZ7-DVY7-ZxhcqDiqtlJfu4vj5UZrnpAJUcmI4nJnT48155qMwFPAUqEsZtdBrK_CltQ2iDJpspaZyvSEnBiTS98QTZY4AXwOeQ/s1600/Kitsnbits_veronica_johnson_halloween_album_MyLYB_Pages_1.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="181" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhm_PwBrpPYXF_CPqCxXHtic6qMphzR4R3-BMdCdaLUmZ7-DVY7-ZxhcqDiqtlJfu4vj5UZrnpAJUcmI4nJnT48155qMwFPAUqEsZtdBrK_CltQ2iDJpspaZyvSEnBiTS98QTZY4AXwOeQ/s400/Kitsnbits_veronica_johnson_halloween_album_MyLYB_Pages_1.jpg" width="400" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
Notice how the patterns are not from the same collection but they both have the color black.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhS7zjmOIrJEIhMRWPcpcEnQwA_HFFikhIWP3sBFvYej6XIY-udJ7_2U-7Gh_QoweXlpjNtV4t0IhCj7sTLgXpaFPWkxV1QN2jFPKFbKUEHe0tPs4XkY3-2gFhmY7cGXVGWYB2A_xI1Ktg/s1600/Kitsnbits_veronica_johnson_halloween_album_MyLYB_Pages_2.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="176" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhS7zjmOIrJEIhMRWPcpcEnQwA_HFFikhIWP3sBFvYej6XIY-udJ7_2U-7Gh_QoweXlpjNtV4t0IhCj7sTLgXpaFPWkxV1QN2jFPKFbKUEHe0tPs4XkY3-2gFhmY7cGXVGWYB2A_xI1Ktg/s400/Kitsnbits_veronica_johnson_halloween_album_MyLYB_Pages_2.jpg" width="400" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh7nJ_sUmxz7ZXg7WJSuVwkuy-F6EZeEio0W70Mv62FVttUCsUBk1vjFYJZTYCM5xqS7Jw8uBsH8ipaWKogY7XWtBJLXrPUmewAx3pnSJ5BrGe_fXxuT8jb2LWR7spC3HDy9FVNB_wZLec/s1600/Kitsnbits_veronica_johnson_halloween_album_MyLYB_Pages_4.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="172" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh7nJ_sUmxz7ZXg7WJSuVwkuy-F6EZeEio0W70Mv62FVttUCsUBk1vjFYJZTYCM5xqS7Jw8uBsH8ipaWKogY7XWtBJLXrPUmewAx3pnSJ5BrGe_fXxuT8jb2LWR7spC3HDy9FVNB_wZLec/s400/Kitsnbits_veronica_johnson_halloween_album_MyLYB_Pages_4.jpg" width="400" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
Third, when choosing patterns for my mini I try and stick to 2-3 colors in the pattern only. So in this case with the Halloween album, I chose orange and yellow with an accent of green splattered here and there.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgSBISKjkiBV45MldyVBVNJMylLhqUfQfpA0qdmlUME0UnqMqzhpvhrXwloO64ZldxjQWliYP8fO7Ummukiv0QLhWLCUMsu3VbM49GMLZNClNwEmAAfuqq2xOADDXlcPehyphenhyphenE78nggIshMQ/s1600/Kitsnbits_veronica_johnson_halloween_album.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="400" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgSBISKjkiBV45MldyVBVNJMylLhqUfQfpA0qdmlUME0UnqMqzhpvhrXwloO64ZldxjQWliYP8fO7Ummukiv0QLhWLCUMsu3VbM49GMLZNClNwEmAAfuqq2xOADDXlcPehyphenhyphenE78nggIshMQ/s400/Kitsnbits_veronica_johnson_halloween_album.jpg" width="351" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
I hope I have inspired you to go into your stash and use some of it up by following my three basic methods. Happy Scrapping!</div>

<span style="color: blue;"><span style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif;"><span style="font-size: 14px;">Today I'm going to do a quick tutorial on how I like to color blue jeans with Copic Markers. Before I start I do have to tell you that I am kind of a blue jean addict. I LOVE jeans, especially old faded, soft, holey ones that I've had forever. If it was acceptable to wear jeans everywhere, I would, but my mom would die of embarrassment! I have some favorite brands that I gravitate towards when shopping, but I'm open to other brands too, after all I am always searching for the most perfect pair of jeans. </span></span><span style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14px;">But today I'm not showing you how to wear them, I'm showing you how I like to color them.</span></span></div>

<span style="color: blue;"><span style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14px; text-align: left;">When the pants are outlined with the B97, I use B95 to blend the two colors together.</span></span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<span style="color: blue;"><span style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14px; text-align: left;"> It lightens them up and blends the obvious line between the two colors. </span></span></div>

<span style="color: blue;"><span style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14px; text-align: left;">Then I use just a touch of B99 to get some added shaded areas at the very top of his pants and cuffs.</span></span></div>

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<span style="color: blue;"><br /></span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<span style="color: blue;"><span style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14px; text-align: left;">OK the pants are colored and now I am going to add the jeans texture and blend them better. I put a small drop of my Colorless Blender on the corner of my jean scrap. It's important that you don't soak your material because the more blender you use the more the ink will spread and it will quickly be outside of the image. If you have a Colorless Blender marker you can do the same, just remove the tip of the marker and drop some blender on your jean scrap. Don't forget to put the tip back in the marker.</span>

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<span style="color: blue;"><br /></span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<span style="font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14px; text-align: left;"><span style="color: blue;">Using the damp corner I lightly dab the colored pants. I get a great jean texture and the colors further blend. Start by dabbing lightly and dab more as you need it. Work slowly, you can always dab more but you can't un-dab (I don't think that's a word but I'm making it one today). Working in the center of the pants is the best because the color is pushed to the outside of the pants where it should be darker. My close up shows you just how textured and blended my finished jeans are. If you want to darked your edges more you can add more B99 to the edges. Depending on how you color the rest of Ian can help you determine that.</span></span></div>
