Happy Birthday

Happy Thursday everyone! Scrapstreet Feature Writer, Aymee Gandy, here today to share a card with you. My 27th birthday is this coming Monday and it has put me in the mood to celebrate. I always need an extra birthday card in my scrappy stash, so I sat down and created this simple easel card. I used my Cricut and Gypsy to cut out the sentiment and the cupcakes from the 'Create A Critter' Cartridge. I also incorporated some embossing using my Cuttlebug, Stickles glitter glue, ball fringe trim, a cupcake liner, and some rhinestones. This patterned paper is from Sassafras Lass.

PURPLE CHALLENGED (Prequel to Chic Street's October Issue)

It's true - - while I am able to play with almost all of the colors, I find purple the most challenging. You can count with one hand the number of layouts that I have done using primarily this color, although the funny thing is, I always almost like the resulting projects.

Are you all ready for fall?

Ready for back to school, the cooler weather, the leaves changing colors....ok, ok, what I REALLY mean is - are you all ready to scrap some fall layouts?? LOL This is a scrapbooking blog, after all :) But yes, when I feel the cooler weather it does make me want to scrap some layouts in fall colors. I'm getting tired all of those beach pages I made this summer! Time for the warm, deep reds and blues and oranges. Time for crochet and velvety flowers. You get the idea. Lots of fall lines debuted this summer from many of the most popular manufacturers which does make scrapping fall that much more fun! Here are a couple pages from me to get your creative juices flowing a little (Hmm...I'm not really big on that expression, not sure why I used it :)

Today is a very special day!!

What so special about it, you ask? It's my Birthday, of course!! LOL (And that's why this is being posted a bit late). I got to have a little break and some time to myself, so I spent the time doing an "Today I am 32" LO - I'll share it a little later with you. I used G45 Halloween in Wonderland pp because well, I like it. So my point in sharing this is to encourage you to use pp you like for any occasion, whether it has anything to do with it or not. You do not have to be so "matchy-matchy". use Christmas pp for a wedding or summer LO, use Fall pp for a baby LO, it really doesn't matter - as long as you like the pp, you like the photo, and feel inspired to use both, go for it!

But while I'm at it, I wanted to share some "Birthday" pp with you that's not necessarily for birthdays (in the spirit of this post and all :) I think it's no secret that I love Webster's Pages and they have a wonderful new line for the Holidays called "Sweet Season". I think this pp would be great for any sweet birthday ;)
