Happy July!!!!!!!!

Are you ready for the heat and happiness that July brings?  I certainly am.  I love it hot and I adore a schedule filled with parties, festivals, and fun events.  Kicking it off with a patriotic weekend just makes it even better!

This month we introduce the very first of our quarterly ScrapStreet.com Magazines.  I must take a second to thank all of you who sent nice notes asking about the switch from monthly to quarterly.  It was so nice to know you missed us!  I hope that all of you enjoy the efforts of out talented team in our first Summer Issue.

We are thrilled to share the July Issue of GingerScrapsStreet Magazine with all of you.  If you are looking for inspiration--we have it.  We cater to digital, hybrid, and traditional scrappers with hot ideas and fantastic artists.

Ready for a free kit?  We have an amazing one for you this month. Talented designer Diana Burton created this patriotic digital kit just for our readers.  We would love to see what you create with it in the galleries at ScrapStreet.com, GingerScraps.net, and in Diana's gallery at Digitals!

A Freebie For You

So, it has been a while since we had a freebie for you! I was thinking of creating a little kit for Father's Day, but my "brushes" got the better of me in Photoshop and I got messy "painting"!

So here you are instead, a little art kit. Ideal for altered art or collage work, maybe an album cover or where ever you want a bright splash of color! How about a different style of card for Father's Day?

Sorry link expired. Join us next time.

Sometimes simple says it all...

When creating cards for others, we tend to want to put all of our love into creating the card and that, in turn, leads to us, as crafters, OVER-accessorizing our creation.

Some artists have this mastered and the effect can be AMAZING and other times it can just look cluttered.

I challenge you to "simplify" your next card design.

Use only a few supplies; a stamp, a few sheets of patterned paper, maybe a sentiment but make a point to reduce the amount of supply you use on one card. You will be amazed at how many cards you can create in a very short period of time.

Have a fabulous week!

Supply list: Paper: Best Creation, Tags: Best Creation, Stickers: Best Creation, Buttons: Junkitz, Other: paper clip, cord

Design Notes: I used Best Creation Safari Boy stickers to create a whimsical altered project.
Using a supersized paperclip, I made this little decorative item for a baby girl shower. It was fun playing the various shapes : from the length of the giraffe's neck, through the swirly stems and circular florals. And it was a moment of pure serendipity when I saw the blue acrylic button with the word pure in my stash. It fit perfectly in the 'belly' of my Mama giraffe to represent the little baby that's coming.
