3.27 Challenge

I fall in love about once a week.  With Etsy.  This fabulous site provides a feast of creativity for the eyes.  Running low on mojo?  Spend half an hour cruising Etsy and something is sure to spark an idea. 

I like to enter in a random word and see what happens next.  This week, I typed "lemondrop" and a totally cool clock popped up.  Designer 1. by. Liz uses recycled bike parts and reclaimed textiles to create the cutest clocks ever.  Take a peek.

The honeycomb flower one?  Made of recycled tennis shoe material.  Fabulous!  I love the metal against the bright colors.  And the sharply "scalloped" circles.  And, of course, the use of an object in a totally different way.

 I created a layout of my son using it last night.  We made kiddie cocktails with cherries and lemon twists and he was beside himself with joy.  I love the pictures of him during cocktail hour.

Design Team Call and Weekly Challenge!

So much to share today!

First, we have a design team call!  We are looking for a couple of new team members who LOVE to create and to write.  We are looking for people who are active in scrapbooking--blogging, gallery uploads, trying new things.  People who tackle scrapping with enthusiasm!  Traditional, hybrid, digital, layout, card, and altered artists are all encouraged to apply.

The Job:
Our team publishes a monthly ezine with thousands of subscribers and a 5
year history. We love finding and showcasing talented scrappers and
beautiful products. If you are selected for our team, you will write a
monthly article which will include selecting and requesting the work of
designers, combining the work into an interesting article, and meeting your
deadline.

You will also receive products at least 6 times a year from a variety of
manufacturers and will scrap several items to showcase their lines. It is
an excellent opportunity to increase your visibility in the scrapping
community while having fun.

A Treat From Scrapstreet

Wednesday and time for a little treat courtesy of Scrapstreet Digital Design team. Sue Wood Designs has made this colorful sticker alpha for your scrapbooking. Large size png files can be resized to suit your layout. You can print them with confidence and then cut them out to use on your hybrid projects.  Printed on a light card is best, and leave the white edge to them, this is most useful if you can't always cut as carefully as you would like. Try curling the edges both digitally and as paper scrapping alphas. the effect is plain but very effective.
You could even change the interior color by using the marquee tool and clicking on the colored centre then make a layer above and fill wit a color to suit yourself and your layout, use it any way you like except commercially.

Challenge Day!

Every Saturday, we will post a new challenge with a prize.  For this first launch of of the Saturday Challenge, we decided to start with a simple little card sketch.
