A friendship mini for a friend

Hello scrappers. Nicole here today with a quick and easy mini album. A few months ago, my cousin asked me if I would be willing to make a friendship mini album for her to give to her best friend who just went away for college. And since I enjoy making things for other people, I said of course! The "Hello Friend" collection was the perfect fit for my mini. I love the soft colors and pretty embellishments! I think I need another set because I've been using this collection like it's going out of style. LOL.

A coloring book for Edward

Hello everyone. Nicole here. Lately, it seems like all Edward wants to do is sit on my lap so that he can command me to draw him pictures of cars, turtles, mommy and daddy. The list goes on :) I actually love this. I think that I might have a little artist so I'm doing everything that I can to encourage him to find his creative side.
Since my son loves to draw, I decided to create him a fun coloring book using my Bind-it-All and Clipboards. This was such a quick and easy project and Edward loves it! Go ahead and try creating one of your own. I bet your kids will love it too!

Dear Scott

Hello! I hope all is well with you! Today I am just going to share a quick and easy mini album that I created for my sister. A few months ago, I came across some post about her relationship with her boyfriend and thought it was so touching so I wanted to create something that she will always have to remember these precious times. I hope she found her soulmate because it's not easy to find that special person you want to be with for the rest of your life but she is SO happy with Scott and I am truly happy for her.

Dr.Seuss Landing

Hello everyone, Nicole here. Today, I would like to share with you a fun mini that I created for my mother. Just recently, she went on vacation to Florida and while she was there, she got to see Dr. Suess Landing. She absolutely loves Dr. Suess, but who doesn’t right?
For this mini, I wanted to make it fun and playful so I kept the mini simple by using lots of pastel colors and punches to make the album pop. To add to the playfulness of the mini, I decided to use different size alphas and some decorative tape. This was the first time that I got to play with the Zutter Cover It All and Cove It All pages and I love them! I love the fact that these album covers can be left naked or one could ink them to a desired color. I love the different textures of this mini and I can’t wait to give it to my mom. I think it will make her happy.

Mom gave me some pamplets from when she visited Disney and I decided to cut them down and put the pages in a 4x6" Movable Pre-Punched Page Protector sheet. Love these!

Be true to you

Hello everyone, Nicole here. Today I would like to share a fun piece of art I created for my craft room. I received this fun template in my June SFTIO Kit and immediately fell in love! I had so much fun playing with canvas, templates, and paint. As far as the mess involved, it was well worth it.
First, I altered a 5"X7" piece of canvas using a stencil and some Smooch ink. I used a plain marker for the title.
After I finished painting, I let the piece sit for about an hour to dry. Once dried, I popped the glass out from a 5"X7" frame and popped the 5"X7" canvas board behind the frame.
And here is my final project. I just love how this turned out. This really was an easy project and so much fun.
  • Supplies:
  • Zutter: Bind-It-All
  • Zutter: 5"X7" Canvas Artboard
  • Other:
  • Template: Crafer's Workshop
  • Spray Ink: Smooch
  • Pearlized Accent Ink: Smooch
  • Black marker: Ranger
  • Gray marker: Creative Memories

Make it a mini!

Hello scrappers! Today I am going to share instructions on how you can create a mini album using your April SFTIO Kit! This mini is so simple that it will take you no more than 2 hours to complete! I wanted to create a mini about the things that make me "content and happy!"

First thing you need to do is cut several pieces of chipboard down to 3"X3", and then cut several 3"X3" patterned paper and adhere them to the front and back of your chipboard pieces using Zip Dry Glue by Beacon! This stuff dries quickly and It works great for keeping your papers snugged against the chipboard! Make sure you put the glue all around the chipboard edge, and the center and then rub your hand across the paper to smooth out any clumps from the glue.

Once your the glue dries, use your Bind-It-All by Zutter to punch the edges of your pages and bind it together with wire. You want to bind your mini together before embellishing your album because it will be impossible to bind the pages once you have embellishments on your pages! (Learn from me... I know this because I've had this happen to me).

Once your mini is binded, go ahead and pull out your embellishments that you would like to use. I find that you will cut the time you put into your mini if you grab what you want to use on your mini first and then once you start creating your mini, stick to what you have pulled out!

And here is my completed album! I love this and I hope you are inspired to create one of your own!
